From the moment we saw the Kai Malu site in Wailea, it captured our imagination.
First of all, the site is located at the very center of Wailea, arguably one of the best resort destinations in the world. This means Kai Malu will be surrounded by Wailea's world-class amenities - from challenging golf courses, top ranked beach resorts and spas, exceptional beaches and water sports, fabulous shopping and dining, and a wonderful variety of leisure-time activities.
We immediately saw the possibilities: What an ideal setting for a private resort village that offers its residents a sense of serenity and exclusivity in the heart of this vibrant resort. To capture this feeling of tranquility, we named it Kai Malu, which means "peaceful waters shaded by the clouds above Haleakala."
Our next step was to assemble a highly talented team. Together we designed an extraordinary resort residential community that offers the best in luxurious Hawaiian island living. It offers maintenance-free living in attached single-family homes featuring luxury appointments and unparalleled quality. The homes are designed for indoor/outdoor living, taking advantage of the natural tropical environment and the magnificent views of ocean, mountains, islands and sunsets. Kai Malu is our second joint venture with A&B Properties, a company with extensive development experience and financial strength. They were our partners in the highly successful Kai Lani at Ko Olina on Oahu, and we are pleased to be working with A&B once again.
